Henry is known as one of the most versatile dancer and choreographer within street dance styles, not only in the Netherlands, but worldwide.
Born with an indomitable passion for dance, Henry began his dance journey at a young age and it didn't take long for his undeniable talent to stand out in the Hip-Hop community. It was during these early years of self-discovery and growth that Henry was noticed by none other than Jeffrey Roberts, an iconic dancer from the Dutch Hip Hop underground dance scene. He aspired to not only become an excellent Bboy, but also to broaden his dance horizons and experiment with different street dance styles.
Henry's unique ability to combine and master different dance styles quickly made a name for himself in the dance field.
Theater company ISH was his first experience as a professional where he could develop and broaden his versatile dance talents. Henry's unique creativity and choreographic skills quickly made him a sought-after dancer and choreographer in both the theater and commercial fields. He has collaborated with renowned theater companies such as Cirque du Soleil and the National Ballet of the Netherlands, where he has taken his art to new heights.
Henry O'tawiah has also danced and/or choreographed for some of the biggest names in the music industry, including Rita Ora, Mariah Carey and Kylie Minogue.Due to his versatility, he has also been able to shine in TV shows such as Idols, Xfactor, Dance Dance Dance. To top it off, Henry was chosen to be part of the Adidas World Team in 2015 where he was mentored and collaborated with legends in the dance world such as Storm and Salah.
His very first love and the source of his inspiration is the underground scene. In 2010/11 he won the world famous dance event Juste debout Nederland. He was allowed to go to Paris to represent the Netherlands.
He is currently working intensively as a theatre maker, creating inspiring and beautiful pieces.
He recently choreographed a piece at the Afrovibes Festival with the talented Bboy Lee from The Ruggeds called “Numerology.” He is also busy with the artistic vision of Solid Ground Movement, where he is committed to strengthening the legacy of the dance school.
